Social innovation for the inclusion of elderly and persons with disabilitiesOn December 7th, 2015, the conference on social innovation for the inclusion of the elderly and people with disabilities was held by the Israeli Embassy; the Vietnamese Ministry of Labour- Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA); and the Vietnam office of the UN Population Fund (UNFPA). Attending the event were Deputy Minister Pham Minh Huan; Mrs Meirav Eilon Shahar – Ambassador of the Israeli Embassy to Vietnam; Mrs. Ritsu Nacken – UNFPA Acting Representative in Vietnam and representatives from the NA’s Committee for social affairs; the organizations of persons with disabilities, social organization, companies, expert in the field of caring and implementing the right of people with disability from Israel and Vietnam.
Northern province applies well policies for the elderly Statistics show that the northern province of Quang Ninh has nearly 105,000 elderly people, accounting for 9.1% of the population. Over the past years, the province has paid attention to caring for the elderly, especially those in disadvantaged conditions.

Training workshop fostering social workers on the elderly in 2012Within the 2 days, 14th and June 15th , 2012, in Danang, the Office of Vietnam National Committee on Ageing (VNCA) organized the training workshop fostering social workers on the elderly in 2012. Attending the training session were 66 delegates representing DOLISAs, the provincial staff board on the elderly and some districts from 27 provinces. Old people to have more pension Monthly pension benchmark for old people aged 60-80 will be increased to VND 180,000 from currently VND 120,000, while person aged 80 and over will receive VND 270,000 as of March, 2011.
